I was amazed you could choose the bun and it felt like you were having a healthyish meal! I highly recommend the Regal Regis sandwich. The rootbeer there is also excellent. Flour Bakery in Boston is another can't miss. Try the cinnamon cream brioche. (Next to New York and Savannah.) Had a recommendation to eat at a highly regarded place called Davio's. Amazing. Looks like a former bank; gorgeous high ceilings, beautiful banquettes and polished timber decor, but the food and service is like a lovely, homely, family-run restaurant. The staff are some of the loveliest I've ever met. And the food! OMG. OMG.

Maine is also staggeringly beautiful. Are you driving? Wisasset has a great place called Le Garage - right on the water in one of the prettiest villages in the state. It's a former mechanics garage, and has been reinvented as a great, great restaurant (still with rustic touches). Famous for seafood.

You also need to get to Mt Desert Island. Regularly voted in Top 3 Most Beautiful Islands in the US (lots of celebs live there - David Rockefeller, MArtha Stewart, etc) - but more famous for seafood. Bar Harbor is FULL of seafood places, from clamshacks to cute harbourside diners. Fantastic atmosphere too.

Other places/towns famous for food and scenery in equal measures: Camden/Rockland/Boothbay Harbor and even Nantucket near Cape Cod.

Have an amazing trip!
Love to Angela.
